An update on Quantock Ecology and the Coronavirus.
Developments over the last year regarding Covid-19 have certainly put us all in uncertain times. As a company, I would like to assure you that we are doing everything we can to not only provide the same level of service, but to follow government advice and monitor the situation on a daily basis.
I would like to inform everybody of the following steps Quantock Ecology are taking, to ensure the safety of our staff and valued clients:
– All ecologists are currently working from home and will be self-isolating for 14 days if any symptoms of the coronavirus are displayed. No one is currently operating from our office in Taunton, in order to maintain a safe working environment.
– All ecologists will travel to sites separately. Please do not be offended if your surveyor does not shake your hands. All staff have been asked to follow government guidelines in terms of social contact and distancing.
– Many of our surveys are undertaken outside and often, with little or no human interaction (e.g. surveying a garden or field). However, when an ecologist needs to enter a home or commercial premise, they have been asked to wash their hands when entering and leaving a property.
– All pre-booked bat dusk emergence/re-entry surveys are currently to continue as normal, as these do not necessarily require any personal contact with the client or internal access to the structure being surveyed. If access is required to the site, please can you ensure this has been arranged prior to the visit.
What happens next?
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide an update both on social media and our website as and when required. If you have any questions or concerns whatsoever, please email [email protected] or call 01823 414457 and I will be happy do discuss things with you.
Simon Pidgeon, BSc (Hons) MRSB
